September 15, 1991 In regards to my background, I have had Osteoporosis since 1979. I am 66 years of age, weigh 112, height 5'1 1/2". I have been having trouble with the TMJ since l979 and have been going to a dentist in Houston. He did not seem to be helping me to much. He passed away about a year ago and I found out about Dr. Auvenshine of Houston and have been going to him since February. He had done wonders, also putting me on the Alpha-Stim unit every time I went, nearly every two weeks since February. Having severe headaches at the base of my skull, neck tension, etc. and trouble with sleep. My jaws have completely degenerated, lost of the jaw bone joint with spur on the left jaw. After having the treatments and being fitted with a plastic splint things are much better but will never be the same. I had been going to a local therapist for a type of tens treatment. I would go twice a week for three weeks. It would help at the time then come back again. This was expensive. Dr. Auvenchine wanted me to purchase the Alpha-Stim because it was very good. I have been using it at home now for a while and it has made all the difference because I can wear the pads on my shoulders during the day to help relax and it has and the headaches are very much improved, thanks to the Alpha-Stim unit. Being able to sleep with the unit has really helped. Also having it handy at times I really need it, means a lot. Enclosed is a copy of my diagnosis from Dr. Auvenshine which I had to send to Insurance trying to get them to pay for the unit. Being D.D.S. they do not pay.
