I am a 35 yr. old pre-school teacher. I sustained an injury to my Temporomandibular Joint while having my right rear molar filled by a dentist. This dentist applied more than necessary force on my jaw which stretched the muscles and ligament in my jaw so severely that it pulled my cartilage in my Temporomandibular Joint out causing, according to my doctor, acute closed lock of the TMJ, locking it initially at 11 mm. range of motion. My second doctor's opinion affirmed this diagnosis and continued with: an internal  derangement with a complete displacement without reduction of the cartilaginous disc of both right and left temporomandibular joints. In other words my jaw was dislocated and the cartilage discs in the joint came out locking my jaw.

Needless to say this is a very painful state which I am in. On my second visit to my doctor who is treating me now, he attached the Alpha-Stim unit to my TMJ and it had a soothing, pain relieving effect.

While waiting for my insurance co. to verify coverage of the unit, I borrowed my mothers "Easy" TENS unit made by American IMEX. I took it to my doctor and was instructed on how to use it. I used it regularly for approximately l 1/2 months and received pain relief. The constant thumping was unnerving and irritating though and I couldn't use it as much as I needed to. I supplemented the time I was not using it with medication for pain relief.

When I received  pre-approval for the Alpha-Stim CS unit I purchased it, one- on recommendation from my doctor of it's superior effect and two- I wanted to return my mothers and have one of my own.

I was immediately impressed with it's pain  relieving ability and it not being irritating to use. As stated before, I am a pre-school teacher and need to constantly talk. I wear the Alpha-Stim to work and it enables me to work with a significant reduction of pain so I do not  have to use as much medication.

Also, when I am unable to sleep due to pain from my injury and don' t want to wait the time it takes medication to help, I put the Alpha-Stim on, set it for 60 min. and receive instant relief  enabling me to go to sleep.

I am grateful for the technology which has given me pain relief without having to take as much medication. It is the greatest discovery to me since aspirin. Thank you.
