6/18/90 I received the Alpha-Stim unit I ordered while I was on vacation and began using it immediately upon my return last Thursday. I was in an auto accident last December and have been undergoing physical therapy on and off since that time. The neck injury which I received flares up after strenuous exercise and yardwork as well as during times of stress. My neurosurgeon has diagnosed my injury as soft tissue/neural damage. I have had traction, ultrasound and moist heat (hydrocollators) both at my therapists and at home. I also tried another variety of tens unit on a 30-day free trial. Having been a science teacher and having had the benefit of two years of pre-med schooling, as well as having had a previous auto accident in which a disc in my lower back was multiply herniated, I am familiar with most all the forms and varieties of treatment from acupuncture to muscle relaxers to anti-inflammatories to benzodiazapanes, etc., etc.. Merely using the Alpha-Stim for relaxation gives me as much as several hours of relief. I have yet to affix the stimulation electrodes to my neck as I have found the relaxation mode all that has been necessary to meet my needs to date. With luck, this will continue although spring and summer usually prove to be strenuous (therefore painful) seasons for me. Sincerely, |
