May 28, 1991 My name is Johnny Matthews and I've been having back related problems since being rear-ended on June 5, 1986. Being treated for a Cervical Strain, I underwent P.T. for 6 or 8 months using exercise as well as TENS and Ultrasound before having Cervical Fusion on October 26, 1987. C4 and C5 were fused using a bone graft from my pelvis. After more P.T. many problems persisted, especially severe spasms throughout my Thoracic and Cervical areas. On October 4, 1988, posterior fusion was performed at the same level. While there was some improvement, most of my problems persisted due to bad thoracic discs. After having several nerve blocks and a morphine epidural, my doctor recommended me as a good candidate for treatment with the Alpha-Stim CS. It seemed as though nothing could provide relief for what has been diagnosed as Degenerative Disc Disease, the Alpha-Stim CS did. While it doesn't give total relief all the time, I find that some degree of relief is always achieved and I sleep better. Sincerely, |
